Meet The Team
Think you've got what it takes?
We want proper anglers who live and breathe carp fishing like we do. The kind who'd rather be bankside than anywhere else, but who also love sharing their passion and results with the world.
Our sponsored anglers get regular bait supplies, exclusive access to our latest experimental products, and the full backing of The One Bait team. But here's the thing – we're picky. We only work with a select few talented anglers who share our obsession for perfection.
If you're consistently putting fish on the bank and think you'd be a good fit for our team, we'd love to hear from you.

I’m an Essex based carp angler, fishing club waters, day tickets and a quiet syndicates.
I’ve been fishing over 25 years now. I caught my first carp aged 9 and have been hooked ever since.
I’m all about short, in-and-out sessions, letting the prebaiting do the heavy lifting while I keep things simple and effective on the bank.
Favourite One Bait products so far are Pacific Pulse dip, Pacific Pulse wafters and Cre’me Atlantis pop-ups.
Buzzing to now be part of the One Bait team, let the adventures begin -

“Born to fish. Forced to work”
Caught my first fish, a carp from Fishers Pond in Hampshire aged 8.
That was 52 years ago and ever since I have been fishing mad.
When I think back … I have been so lucky to fish as much as I have. I still love it
As a kid I used to fish the Thames, Coate water and the chalk streams of Hampshire. I was keen to learn and constantly bothered the adult anglers.
In my early teens we moved to Southsea and within no time had the sea fishing bug. Catching mackerel, bass, plaice and rays from Southsea pier.
I finished school and worked on the trawlers for some time.
Oh boy … do I know how to fillet a fish.
A move back to Gloucestershire in my late teens found me surrounded by water. The river Severn, Avon and Wye close by. Not to mention the Cotswold water park.
I was in heaven. I fished them all.
Back then we still had the close season. So …. I took up fly fishing. I needed to fish.
Again I fished everywhere. Rutland water, Grafton, Dever springs to mention a few.
After getting married, having my daughter Jess and then getting divorced my fishing life went mad.
I fished whenever I could.
I had a punt on the Warwickshire Avon for 15 years and again I fished for every species, I did alright.
Now in 2026 I have the perfect work life balance. Work 4 days a week and go fishing for the other 3.
I fish mainly for carp these days but sometimes dabble around for other stuff. I’ve never been happier.
A few years ago I met Dan Lewis on a rather tricky local clay pit. He did alright and caught a few.
Dan now owns a bait company called The One Bait.
I have been using Dans Pacific Pulse range for the last year. It is awesome. It works, it really works. It catches everything.
Last year I took 50 kilos of Pacific Pulse to France to fish the rivers.
True to form.. I caught everything. Carp, catfish, barbel, chub and bream. They liked the bait and so do I.
Since then I’ve done very well everywhere I’ve taken it. My local syndicate, Linier, Whelford, the Cotswold water park and of course the English rivers.
The two most recent highlights for me and this great bait have been …. 38lb mirror from the Cotswold water park and a 50lb common from the river Lot in France.
It’s fair to say … I’ve been around the block a few times and a great bait really does make a difference.
Not tried it yet?? You should. It’s called ….. The One Bait -

My passion for fishing began in my youth, evolving into a dedicated pursuit of carp angling over the years. Chad Lake holds a special significance for me, as it is where I successfully landed a 32lb mirror carp, which I had the privilege of naming "Scar." All of my available leisure time is devoted to angling. Additionally, I participate in annual fishing expeditions to France with colleagues, which are particularly meaningful and often result in new personal bests.
My personal best catches include:
UK Mirror Carp: 32 lbs
UK Common Carp: 29 lbs
French Mirror Carp: 49 lbs
French Common Carp: 52 lbs
It was an honor and a privilege to be invited to join the Onebait family. My preferred bait selection consists of The Pulse boilie. For hook bait, I utilize either a Pulse wafter or a pink pop-up, depending on the specific angling conditions, enhanced with Inferno oil -

During the winter months, my primary focus is on targeting wild canal carp, which involves understanding their behaviors and navigating these demanding aquatic environments. As summer approaches, I transition to exploring and evaluating new fishing locations, including ponds and lakes, to identify novel opportunities and experiences.
The Pacific Pulse boilies and Pacific Pulse Yellow Pop-Ups are my preferred and consistently reliable bait choices across various fishing environments. I am proud to have achieved a personal best of a 25lb carp.

I am 13 year old carp angler from Essex. I am fortunate to be able to fish on our own lake called The Lake at Nine Acres, based in Eastwood, Essex.
I began fishing at around five, starting with a small float rod and using sweetcorn to catch roach and the occasional small carp. By the age of seven, I progressed to fishing with bottom baits. When I discovered The One Bait, I contacted them immediately to request a sponsorship, and I was fortunate enough to receive one. Since then, my fishing has improved significantly; I have gone from catching carp of around ten pounds to regularly landing fish exceeding twenty pounds, simply through using The One Bait.
My preferred tactic with their bait is a spinner rig paired with a pink Pacific Pulse pop-up dipped in Secret Sauce, followed by scattering a generous amount of Crème Atlantic bottom bait around the area. My PB to date which I am proud of is a 23lb Mirror Carp.

I’m not a PB chaser. These days, I fish for the moments, the memories, and the stories that come with every carp I catch.
To me, every fish has a story behind it, whether it’s a quick overnighter grabbed between family commitments or a hard-earned opportunist bite from a water I’ve only managed to visit for a few hours.
With limited time on the bank, I’ve become very much an opportunist angler. I’m always looking to make the most of the time I do have, keeping things simple, staying mobile, and relying on confidence in my bait rather than piling in loads of gear and spending days behind the rods.
I first met Dan and Zoe through my podcast, where I spend a lot of time talking with independent bait companies and anglers from all over the country.
From the first conversation, it was obvious that The One Bait offered exactly what I’d been looking for — quality bait, a genuine passion for carp fishing, and people who care about the anglers using their products.
My go-to products are the Pacific Pulse Hardened Hookbaits and the Pacific Pulse Bait Dip. The hardened hookbaits have been rock solid for me when I need a bait I can cast with confidence and leave out for long periods, and the bait dip has become a real edge in my fishing.
And yes… the Pacific Pulse dip tastes amazing too!
I’m proud to be part of Team One Bait and look forward to sharing the stories, successes, and lessons that come from fitting carp fishing around real life.

Having dedicated myself to the sport of fishing for nearly three years, I am now focused on pursuing larger specimens. My objective for this year is to land a 30lb fish, a goal I anticipate achieving efficiently with the assistance of a specific bait. I regularly frequent various venues across Kent and Essex, which are known for their substantial carp populations. My progression in fishing has led me to a point where I possess the requisite skills and commitment to participate in competitions, further supported by the effectiveness of this particular bait.
